My poor paw - in a 'gauntlet' splint!

Don't know how I did it, but I seem to have 'done in' in my (left) wrist. Thought it was just a sprain but kept getting worse and I was in agony yesterday, so worried it might have been fractured - so went up to St Barts (ony 10 mins walk from my office) to be checked out yesterday afternoon.  They X-rayed it & fortunately nothing broken but looks like I've somehow twisted a double tendon.  Hospital has strapped it up in a splint, and I'm on painkillers/anti-inflammatorys.  Feels a bit more comfortable today and I'm getting some movement/rotation back, but still means no guitar playing for a couple of weeks at least.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

  • Sorry to hear that. I did my shoulder in a few years back and I was out of guitar action for three months. Hope your recovery is quicker

Hope you are back playing soon. Use the time well, read up on music theory and/or listen to music....

On the upside, it's on the mend. It will get better. Think about how bad it would've been if you hadn't had it looked at ?

  • Sometimes a total break from playing is a good thing, drop those 'force of habit' motions and treat it as a chance to 're boot' your technique.

Sadly not - it's still rotational wrist movement - so has to be a total abstinence for 2 weeks at least  :'(
