As a new player im buying a few cheap second hand Vintage(brand) guitars to see what i prefer playing while im learning. 
I have seen a local Vintage Strat. It has p90s on it,in the long term would it be easy to swap them for singlecoils?
I know you can change pick ups easy enough i just not sure size wise if its a easy change.

The P90 is a single coil, it has a fuller sound than the usual Strat single coil....you might like it as it is...............however, If it is like this one

then it would need a different scratchplate that takes single coils and a bit of rewiring, how easy that would be depends on scratchplate availabilty as it may not be exactly "Fender" shape....

Guitars are there to have fun with!
I think the Vintage ones are darned good for the price.
I would suggest thinking about whether to modify guitars or simply replace them; there'll be someone somewhere looking for a Strat with P90s in it, so changing it to standard Strat pickups will reduce its individuality.
If you want to go down the modding route or building from parts, then that can be fun too.

Another option would be custom single coils in a P90 format.
