Where might I find a suitable box?

What's Hot
Successfully sold the Tele body and hardware to @fusionista, and I'm sure he'll do a sterling job of it.  :D Hardware will stay fitted, bar saddles and neck plate.  Obviously.

However, I now need to safely package it.  Local guitar shop only has full size guitar boxes.  Supermarket only has massive boxes or too small ones.

Where do you get yours for posting just a body?  Worst comes to worst, I'll use a full size guitar box and pad the living hell out of it, but I'd rather have a more suitable one to start with...

    Seriously, don't discount bubble wrap and strong brown paper tied with string.

    Two supermarket wine boxes taped together?

    A heavy duty cardboard carton, of the kind supermarkets pack soft fruit in?

    A ukelele or 3/4 size guitar box?

  • Have you tried going to a decent sized post office and asking what shipping boxes they have available?

    Also you could try and contact any company that sells bodies and ask them where they get their boxes from.

    Banana box/carton could be a  bit  bigger than a Tele body......Maybe?
    My local Morrisons always has these by the checkouts. They are strong and great for sending stuff with couriers.

    Someone sent me one in a DVD player box IIRC. Plenty of bubble wrap and it seemed to be a good fit - certainly got here ok.

  • Cool, plenty of good ideas here.  I'll mooch around and I'm sure I'll find one somewhere, even if I have to buy it.

    Buy a cheap Booboo body and use the box, leaving you something to play with too :)

    This. Although the last time I asked for a box in a local Asda, I was told they don't give out boxes anymore, for health and safety reasons. 8-}

    Guitar retailers. Don't crush all of your Guitar boxes. Just keep one or two back.Because somebody will ask for one. And when you hand it over (free) they will be a loyal customer.
    Forever.

    Assuming that you can Price-Match Thomann.
