Different Shaped Pedals

What's Hot

Was just browsing the interwebz and came across this, which also has a these.

Not sure i'd want one, but it's certainly different. Has anyone seen and "non-standard" shaped pedals that are not custom/one offs? Ones that if someone wanted could just go and order today but uh.. different :)

Anyone tried any Ogre effects?

not played any but always thought those ogre fx seemed like a bit of a gimmick aimed at kids with a BC rich & marshall MG series.

I suppose they're fine if you value image over function.
I've never played in a death metal band so I wouldn't have much use for one of those.
There are a zillion distortion pedals around that probably do the same job better in a more practical format.

Yeah, i agree they are very spikey/death metal type pedals and i'm not sure they would give the user a huge amount of credibility...

But you have to say that they are different from the usual square enclosure with a couple of knobs on.
Just interested to see if there are any other non custom pedals like that.
I've been to shows and seen all sorts of weird and wonderful pedals, and would like to seee MOAR!

  • I was bitterly disapointed back when I started playing that the Ibanez Soundtank pedals didn't actually have caterpillar tracks.....false advertising!

Audiences don't see pedals anyway... And if they do they'd be upside down to them. So... er.... is it something to look at if you're just chording along?

If you're using a pedalboard it makes sense if all the pedals are roughly the same size and shape for the sake  of tidiness and practicality.

Check out Roger Mayer then, arguably the granddaddy of guitar effects and has some pretty kooky spaceship shaped pedals.

    I have this little beauty.

I say 'little' but it's bigger than a wah and heavier than Venus. It's a Hello Sailor fuzz, built in a warship's emergency light housing.
