The Fender Voyager which was exhibited five years ago as a concept guitar.  I think it had a lot of potential being a variation from the norm (okay there was the "telemaster") especially the variant model with stealth pickups which carried on the concept from the original Marauder prototype (the second guitar I would love for Fender to produce)... I do hope they introduce this some day (with a few configuration variants ofc)...

Unlike Gibson, Fender normally have the sense not to manufacture models that won't sell.  I suspect that is what happened.

Not keen on the look personally, but I am something of a traditionalist with guitar shapes. I can only guess that it received a less than enthusiastic reaction.

If they had figured out a way of stopping it melting under stage lights they might have had a runner there.

I have seen a fair few favourable comments from that time, yet nothing afterwards... Shame as if it had another pickup configuration and trem (like the variant that I cannot find a link for) I would have bought it...

I actually quite like the outline but the pickguard is quite unneccessary and the block inlays look wrong. The Tele pickups are a bit... of an anachronism. How about coming up with something new that may become the new industry standard?

    I like it...

Not a huge fan of the black, but the body shape looks good to me.

  • Gibson Product Development took them to court and stopped them marketing it because it was too close to their crackpot offerings...

I like it, but presumably it just sounds like a Tele? Shapes are all well and good but for a new guitar to succeed then it has to sound unique surely?
