I had a regular V40 a while back and missed it a little. The Deluxe sounds a little different. It's got more treble on tap if needed, which is a good thing as the V40 was a bit dark. The D sounds somehow more refined. I instantly took a shine to Voice 2 with the mid kick off for a lovely warm clean sound. I think it's a little more Fender sounding than the original V40.

The trem sounds lovely and gets the sound I want from a trem (think I Need You by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Roads by Portishead or My Least Favorite Life by Lera Lynn). It's speed range is quite slow so I have it set at around 8 or 9 on the dial (out of 10).

The reverb is OK, very useable, if a little polite, not as good as the outgoing Morgan PR12, but that really is an exceptional amp spring reverb.

I haven't had chance to open the amp up with the pre-amp wound up for some distortion yet or really had chance to get the drive pedals going through it but from the clean tone I hear I expect it will sound good. Can't wait to let rip with the Les Paul.

The build quality is top notch and it's a great looking amp.

    I'm happy.

Has the cat turd affected the sound? Is it muddy? For anyone scratching their head please check out the parody section.........
