Have you tried your local recycling centre or charity shops? Our local recycling centre always has a container full of old tellies - I'm not sure you are officially allowed to take stuff but I'm sure a fiver in the right hands...

Yeah I went down to my local one today but nothing of the correct vintage, all they had was knackered plasmas

We just chucked out a tiny b&w tv! About 5' screen. Cute but pointless and taking up space so it went in a loft clearout

Same here - had a b&w Ferguson portable I got for my 10th birthday (er - 1975!) under the stairs since we moved in into this house 11 years ago. I was quite sad to dump it.
