Make it your immediate business to watch the brand new XTC: This Is Pop documentary on Sky Arts.

It's superb.

It'll be on catch up and, knowing Sky Arts, probably on repeat fairly regularly.

You're welcome.

Excellent selection of talking heads on it too - not the usual suspects.

Edit: Not Talking Heads, mind you.

    How strange...

Just flew back from Cyprus tonight, and had a music time in the plane when a load of XTC songs came on random !

Ill record the programme now. Cheers for the heads up.

Yes, yes they did. Little models on a model train.

No idea. I dare say it could be found somewhere. Worth searching out.

Simplest is you could get Now TV - £19.99 at the moment for the box and two months Entertainment, binge on Sky Arts programmes and box sets and use the box for the iPlayer, etc, once the passes have run out or buy monthly passes if you love it enough. Or hope someone sticks it on YouTube.

  • One of my favourite bands ever. Watched this twice over the weekend.  And a nice chunk of the documentary on the Dukes too! Some of those early clips had a lot of similarity to Cardiacs I thought - another band who could do no wrong in my eyes, and who had definitely name-checked XTC as an influence.

The Cardiacs got a big up on TPS - I think Dan from TPS/ The Gig Rig plays with an ex XTC member? It's all starting to fit together now...
