A Friday evening giggle for you......
Yesterday evening I was rehearsing with my guitar buddy and we decided to play The Eagles classic, Hotel California. The first two lines of the song are, as I am sure you know,
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Colitas is a slang term for cannabis is parts of the USA
However, my buddy stood beside me and sung:
Warm smell of COLITIS, rising up through the air!!!
One of the main symptoms of colitis is a badly upset stomach. Whilst there is nothing funny about suffering from such an unpleasant condition, the warm smell of that rising up through the air is not something you would want to write a song about. I didn't have the heart to point out his error to him. I will just make sure we never sing it in public!
How I kept a straight-ish face I will never ever know!!!
