Stage lights.

I'm moving more and more into solo performer territory. Was thinking about getting some lights. Just to give a bit of atmosphere. Nothing fancy required but must be small and compact. Any ideas?

    I'd look at two things.

    First, make sure you stand out: warm "spot" light focused at chest height from above, and preferably from both sides. If you want to go really cheap then led spots on old mic stands. If you're using your own pa then you might be able to mount the spots on the speakers.

    Secondly, add movement. Something like two of these on the floor, set to Sound-to-Light.

    Cheers @Roland ;;

    Well, Using my own PA, but it's a column style one, so no speaker stands. I'm not against getting a stand though.

    I'm wary of movement, Ages and Ages ago, a band I was in had quite a bit of lighting and I often felt it was all a bit too cheesy and disco, but I think things have moved on a bit since then. Those lights look, compact, easy to use and good value.

    I bought five of these for my function band in June 2016 and have had no issues with them so far:

    I did a load of research and knew I wanted some LED Par lights. I was looking at the ADJ tri pars but at £60 ish per light I wasn't sure. I saw these and took a punt and i'm glad I did as I've certainly had my moneys worth from them.

    Cons:
    No mic sensitivity adjustment on the sound to light mode.
    They have fans which do make noise but not noticeable in a busy room.
    Each light has it's own plug so isn't possible, unlike the ADJ tri pars.
    They are a little more bulky than more expensive brands.

    I use 5 of these to cover up to a 7 piece band and they do a good job. Usually I have 3 on block colours and two of them auto scrolling, which gives a nice variation. Mine are branded "eyourlife", which don't seem to be available in the UK at the moment but the ones at the link I posted look like they came out of the same factory.
