Storm Brian...the aftermath

What's Hot
Scenes of utter devestation here in south Wootton as Storm Brian leaves a trail of destruction.

One of our garden chairs blew over and there are a few leaves on the lawn.

We're hoping the rescue teams will be here soon and looking forward to the first air drop of supplies.

I have found my Bosch leaf blower to be invaluable in these autumnal storm situations.

    Don’t forget your safety goggles.

I have a leaf blower and vac. I only use it on the vac setting when I cut my hedge to clean up. I don't really get the whole leaf blowing thing. Are't you just blowing the problem from one place to another?

    It's not a storm - it's a very naughty wind!

It's been far worse here (south Wales) than Ophelia, in fact Ophelia brought lovely sunshine.

    Yes of course

Onto the front drive then onto the public highway. We have lots of friendly leaf picker uppers wondering round at this time of year usually listening to music, smoking ganja whilst picking up a few leaves.

I share your pain. One of our garden chairs blew over as well. But we did build up our defences by taking down our two hanging baskets.
    It's not a competition.

My previous garden vac didn’t really enjoy wet leaves.

The Bosch cordless blower is like a lightsaber it just blasts them away effortlessly.

    First world problems.

Where do they go though? The big houses / apartments opposite have a 10ft wall, and last year I saw someone up a ladder just dumping their leaves out onto the pavement. Cheeky fecker.
Some folks like water, some folks like wine.
    My feedback thread is here.

I blow the leaves back onto the road and pavement for the local council leaf collectors to deal with.

I am well down on the whoring stakes and can't seem to raise a LOL, WIS or WOW lately. I'm like a Fretless Wonder

Try a leaf blower, that might help, or at least drown out the sound of your bass.

I'll see you at the temporary shelter. We're off to scrounge some free food and blankets to sell on Ebay.

    Walk on your tiptoes
    Don't try "No Doz"
    Better stay away from those
That carry around a fire hose
    Keep a clean nose
    Watch the plain clothes
    You don't need a weatherman
To know which way the wind blows
