Brilliant. Was meant to be using it on a gig tonight but we had to cancel due to illness. Sod's law.

Sounds almost good as my Timmy. Incredible value at £49.

  • They are great aren't they. I did a gig with both my Timmy and Soul Food sat side by side, played a few songs with each. The Timmy is now on my home board while the SF does the gigs. Partly down to the value and risk of beer being spilt on it in pub gigs, but really close soundwise in the band mix.

  • Kind of tempted just to have a feel of the klon hype eventhough I have no real use for one ............. I think.

Nice :D That's interesting that you like it nearly as much as your timmy- my danelectro timmy clone is my favourite current transparent od, and if the soul food is similar it's a lot handier to get one of those than a timmy.

I nearly bought a SF in the Guitar Village Boss Gone Mad sale but by the time I got round to it it had sold out. :))

@Dave_Mc - were you local to Farnham? or buying online?

(Oh and I too have the Cool Cat Trans Drive and is a bloody brilliant pedal - can't get a bad sound from it with any gear combination.)

Nah I'm in Northern Ireland, I'd have been buying online. I didn't actually check if they had free postage, if they didn't I probably wouldn't have been saving anything :))

And yeah there's a real snarl off the trans od- i have other transparent ods which are all pretty good, but none really has that snarl the trans od does. Admittedly I don't really use it the normal way, I use it with high gain amps for a high gain rhythm tone. :)) But I've heard TGP types claiming it doesn't do high gain. Which is nonsense.

For under £50 it's worth getting one.

The stock version demoed on the Primaxe video sounds a lot better than the JHS modded one here. I'll be saving my pennies.
