    Wow, I had no idea he was still alive ( well up until very recently). Huge figure ( literally and metaphorically) in rock and roll even if maybe not someone whose fame lingers on as much as Elvis or Chuck. RIP.

    Just heard and obviously sad. But I have to admit that I assumed he was already dead from say years ago. You just assume all such old school legends had gone.

    Likewise, thought he'd gone a long time ago.
    But "Ain't That A Shame" for some daft reason was a record I played loads and loads when I first went to Uni -- and I'd forgotten that till today.
    That was a nice time.  And a good song.

    Not many of the original pioneers left now, sadly - Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis are still with us, but I can't think of any more.
