Do you know the rest of the amp is *definitely* working OK? If it hasn't been used for a long time (like 10+ years, or less if in not perfectly dry conditions, eg a garage) I would be very careful about just turning it on - doing that can sometimes cause expensive damage which can be avoided with a more controlled power-up. I know you probably don't want to spend money on getting a tech to look at it if you don't think there's anything wrong, but trust me on this.
