Hhhmmm the ones I was most looking forward too Wolf Alice and Arcade Fire are good but not as good as I was hoping for, although Everything Now is my song of the year by some margin.

    seem to be enjoying:

    Ryan Adams: Prisoner
    Steven Wilson: To The Bone
    Everythjng Everything: A Fever Dream

I've listened to it FAR more often that is healthy.

I love this band- Chucks voice is brilliant. Their previous album was superb too.
Presumably you are a Leatherface fan?
Yep. They did a split EP with HWM a while back.

I've got the Brand New album, listened a couple of times and like it, must give it another couple of spins.

Such an amazing album - I bumped into her in DC a couple of weeks back too!

  • Been listening to Loyle Carner’s album. Easily the best hip hop from the UK I’ve heard. Yes even better than Goldie Lookin Chain.

Lambchop - Flotus (technically 2016 but my most played record in 2017)
Is this good then? I absolutely love What Another Man Spills but nothing else they've done has come close IMO. But I've not heard this one.

It's not really like anything else they've done, it's more into the realms of electronica and it takes a bit of getting into, but I love it. I like WAMS, have you listened to Awe Cm'on Now You C'mon, Is A Woman & Nixon? They are not a that far off WAMS in style.

Yes I've got all of those but I find none of them is anything like as good as WAMS, not quite sure why.

One of the best gigs I have ever seen was Kurt Wagner solo, a year or two after WAMS came out. I guess it was his golden period or something.

The New Year - Snow. I''m amazed how little coverage this album has got.

It's at times like these that I realise how few new albums I actually buy or hear so I might as well just list them all.  Some are not even particularly good...

Elder - Reflections of a Floating World
Youngblood Supercult - The Great American Death Rattle
Ruby the Hatchet - Planetary Space Child
    Mastodon - Emperor of Sand
    Alunah - Solennial
    The Obsessed - Sacred
Siena Root - A Dream of Lasting Peace

I've got another one I've been listening to a lot the last couple of weeks:

    Pallbearer - Heartless

  • For me, Thunder are still winning the year with "Rip it Up"

There's some hot contenders out there, though... I really like the new Styx album, and Night Ranger.

Black Star Riders, Royal Blood, The Darkness, Strangers, many bands produced great new albums this year. Even the new Nickelback wasn't too bad, bit of a bounce-back from No Fixed Address which was shite.
