The cigar tube (tailpiece) on your mustang vibrato is the wrong way round. It should look like this:


The hole for the arm goes nearest the high E string, and the ball ends sit inside the recesses on the tailpiece.

It does look like that... albeit on a left handed guitar!...

EDIT: but how come the ball ends are sticking out? Is it a RH tailpiece just flipped?

Do you have an approximate date for the red Greco? I could imagine @HarrySeven appreciating a Floyd-less RG-type guitar.

no, it's actually the correct way, cos it's reversed for LH. There's technically no difference where you feed the strings.

it's early 1990s. It sounds like a Strat. Can't technically sound any other way tho, with this bridge and pickups.

LH Mustang Trems simply do not exist as parts. You can only buy RH ones.
