(Thanks for the info. If I was going to pay custom prices, it probably wouldn't be a black one but that certainly seems to be the closest one to me that I can actually go and try)

I ripped them off my SG and replaced with proper tuners. I think you might be too far away for me to try yours

That one at £999 makes mine that's in the classifieds look a bargain at £750, if you don't want a black guitar and if you like Bigsbys.

I was just thinking about you this morning and contemplating doing you a line to find out if your money and milk parasite had finally made an appearance!

As for the midtown, what I ready want is to try one. I don't really do black guitars or Bigsbys though. I quite like the blue custom from the last lot released.

I tell you what mate that’s been a baptism of fire! Plus some gushing tripe in a ndd about how my daughter is the most beautiful, intelligent, advanced and sophisticated 4day old ever would probably just get me well deserved hate mail! This is in fairness pretty much the first chance I’ve had to think about guitars (other than a little something I am keeping under wraps until I’m sure I didn’t dream it).

Back on subject, I personally love a bigsby and also really liked the look of those early midtown’s like the one @fretfinder has; particularly in the red like his, they just had a certain something that I always thought with gold/amber knobs would look awesome. The spec for them always seemed pretty solid too. Totally get that you’d want to try one first but due to the different batches I reckon that could be like putting two lesters next to each other if one was a trad and the other a std.

Anyway, GAS restraint is unnerving, best avoided at all costs.

@Legionreturns Ive a couple of Sheraton’s you can try out. My older one I’d put up against a midtown any day
