  • The addition of a left hand SE is a pretty big deal, they have hardly catered to the l/h market ever. I wonder if they’ll expand if this one does well

I like the colour of the Custom 24-08 - usual tweaks like the trem assembly subtle but no doubt effective

  • I like the 408 switching, so much easier than the push pull pot. Only drawback i can see with the SE range is still the pricing bracket............best to buy used!

Other than that 24-08 no new Core models or major revisions... just a few new colours. Lean times at PRS towers?

I don’t get why the Custom 24 doesn’t have Jumbo frets & a \m/ series bridge pickup. I’d keep the vintage/modern stuff for the Custom 22.
The coil splits on the \m/ sound amazing.

Those new SE standards are a whole lot of guitar for £479. I really like the look of the all mahogany Santana with wide fat neck.

That’d be my wishlist for the Custom 24 too. Well, that and Stainless Steel jumbo frets and maybe Plek. Love my PRS though, so I’m glad I don’t have to upgrade it yet!

Love the Chris Robertson sig. Have fancied one of those for a while.

I couldn't find the stoptail standard 22 doublecut on their website last night - have they discontinued that model now?

I’d love to see some new S2’s, an alder body hsh Standard 24 with a maple neck would be right up my street.

I don't really follow Black Stone Cherry, but that is one of the only 'signature' guitars I've ever really liked regardless of who the artist is. Based on spec and looks alone, it's definitely the sweet spot in the range IMO.

  • I like 24-08 except for the 3 way blade. If PRS would drop the clunky blade and put a 3 way toggle on it I would be more interested.

The 3 way blade is a clunky old beast, a Fender one is much smoother and mechanically quieter

  • Clunk is good, means you can actually select the middle position without having to steady yourself first. I find lighter toggles better for flicking between neck and bridge

Its been that way for a long time. They had to lay off staff and expand the SE range which had basically saved the company from folding. They simply would not have survived if they had just stayed with the core USA range.

Same. Im not a fan of the band particularly (Chris Robertson seems like a good bloke), but that guitar is fantastic.

I reckon you are right, that guitar does look really good. Love a P90 in the neck position and it has a nice simple control layout as well, so wins for me.
