  • Are you recording yourselves, and I don't mean in a Tommy Lee way?  If so why not record the sound from the desk in to something else then splice the sound and vision together?

experience tells me the sound on any non desk recorded gig video is usually at best,  a bit meh,  its all very directional and one instrument tends to overpower the others....................

Id say - If you can use at least a couple of external mics to the recording source - you'll need to get good spacial balance.  Use a few through a small mixer if you can
just because you don't, doesn't mean you can't
just because you do, doesn't mean you should.

Bertie's right... The external mic/recorder thing makes all the difference.

  • We just use a digital SLR , key is to adjust volume before recording.
