I've used a waste paper basket as a temporary cab in the past.
It won't give you that 4x12 thump.

Of course not, you need four of them.

Noted. Does the string I tie them together with make any tonal difference?

I expect so. There's quite a difference between plastic and rattan baskets so the little stuff is bound to matter at least a bit.

Just need to decide if I need it ported. If so, I may use pedal bins for some manual-porting-action

Almost as much as saying ‘Terry Morgan’.

You don't have to worry about impedance problems as long as you get the bucket at Ohmbase.

Oh but then you'd get the dullards trying to use cod science to prove that you need the £1.99 bucket from Wilco rather than the £2.99 orange one from B&Q. And there will be those that can hear that the blue ones offer a more emotive tone.

I've been telling you all for ages that standing in a bucket improves your tone!
