Suhr S3 pro opinions Please

So there I was minding my own business, happy with the thought of keeping the PRS and pimping out a Strat to satisfy this CS Strat itch I've been having when WHAM, a curveball produces itself in the way of an S3 Suhr..

Now knowing who Mr Suhr is and his relation to the Fender Custom Shop has really got me thinking..

Totally non vintage in both looks and playability, but how do these stand up to CS stuff and would it really suit Classic Rock, Blues type of things?

I have 2 Suhr Pro Moderns- they are killer.

The S3 is a great guitar too.

S = strat.

The Moderns are a double cutaway, like a strat, but sort of more Ibanezy.

The Moderns don't have pick guards.

S3s have basswood bodies - so not 'vintage' in a 'classic/blues rock' sense at all - more for hi gain, with decently usable cleans. Very well made, highly playable (though depending on personal taste, you might find the frets too high and square, if you're used to the feel of a PRS). Dirt cheap used for what they are.

The S (and later Pro) guitars are top quality, non-custom instruments, i.e. they make a bunch at a time...same materials, etc. My Moderns were customs but bought off the peg...I didn't actually spec them.

Suhr evolution:

Classic S (proper strat) -> Standard -> Modern (superstrat)

You mostly see 'Pro' offerings for the Standard and Modern.

Your S is a 22 fretter (Modern has 24)...more traditional neck profile...possibly NOT stainless frets(?)

i had an s3 it was lovely, and flawlessly made, sounded great too. Personally they lack the mojo of a CS strat for me, but you'll do well to find a lemon, the quality is as good as it gets

Thanks for your thoughts guys and I have decided against the trade because its too "modern" for me and in some ways similar to the PRS...
