Stone Roses would be an obvious answer... but then they wouldn't be the Roses.
(There are some shocking live performances though :) )

Technically good singers, like technically good guitar players aren't always they best.

The Seahorses are John Squire with a better singer... I don'y mind the their album, but it ain't The Roses.

And before tbh; they shot the wrong Beatle (waits for explosions from the sky and fb fallout for dissing Sir Paul of the frog song). ;)

That bloke who screeches like a cat on fire in AC/DC.
That bloke who screeches in Led Zeppelin.
    Any singer who screeches.

@Boromedic could you link me to the Podcast? Kevin Cadogan is basically the reason I play guitar and I know the story but never heard it from the horses mouth.I liked some of 3eb’s later work (out of the vein was good) but always find myself struggling to really enjoy them because Jenkins is such a grade A cunt.

If you havent already, check out Cadogan’s solo stuff, it’s really good.

I think Bruce Dickinson made Iron Maiden!

Budgie - now there's a band similar to Rush. (Or have I reminded you about Geddy?)

Yeah I even saw them live in London in 2012 but they aren't the same at all. Still love the debut, I started checking Kevins stuff out after the podcast, its decent like. He seems like a really down to earth fella, and Jude Gold (the interviewer) asks a lot of decent questions and I really enjoyed getting into the nuts and bolts of his technique. He was quite funny as well.

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

The Smiths. Marr is a killer guitarist, but he's got that nasal twat whining over everything.

Geddy Lee - never took to his falsetto warbling.  Ditto Jon Anderson in Yes.

    Agree ^^^^ about Dream Theater
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

Sting has to be mentioned. The Police - one of the best bands ever IMO and then he breaks them up because he wants to go off and do politically aware 'soulful' jazz noodling whilst stripped to the waist and doing songs about Quentin Crisp. Thanks for that, mate.

Shit yeah, really obvious one that. I don't mind his solo stuff but the Police were great.

Same with Guns'n'Roses (and Slash's band with that Miles bloke).

Was Geddy singing falsetto? (But actually I prefer hist singing when he dropped to a lower register.)

    I like Jon Anderson.

I agree about Dream Theater too.

Yeah, I suppose we could open it out into ruining bands for all reasons too. In that case I'll add Gary Cherone for his stint in Van Halen.... Hagar was a great replacement for DLR but Cherone... Flat as a fart
I think GC didn't do himself any favours leaving Extreme to be honest - he was at his peak when they split up and he gave his best years to the soap opera that was (and continues to be) VH. And I like VH...
