Sold: Rift 5E3 / 5E5 Tweed Deluxe Head with Power Scaling £775 delivered
What's Hot
Selling my lovely Tweed Deluxe head build by Chris at Rift amps
https://i.imgur.com/TyItPwG.jpgThe amp is faithful to the original 5E3 Tweed deluxe circuit and has had the following upgrades:
1) Cathode components upgraded to allow a GZ34 with 6L6 or 5581 to be run in addition to the stock 5Y3 or 5V4 with 6V6s
2) 2 knob London Power voltage control fitted - this is not the 1 knob version fitted to some well known 5E3 clones, but the combination of Voltage control with Post Phase Inverter Master Volume - a much better and more effective solution
The amp is really well put together with quality components (such as using the premium Red Jupiter Caps in the critical locations) and the Power and Output transformers are specced to run the 6L6 / GZ34 combo.
How to put this politely - Hmm.. this amp is very similar in spec to some very well regarded and very expensive tweed clones lauded around these parts, but is built using better components and with a more advance power scaling solution - all for around 50% of the price - that makes sense to me, so hopefully it does to you too?
It's in mint condition and sounds epic, either with the cleaner, punchier and more dynamic 6L6 / GZ34 setup or with the stock 'chewy' 5Y3 / 6V6 setup
The amp is currently setup with a NOS 12AY7 / 12AX7 / 5581 / GZ34 valve setup
I can ship the amp (cost included in the UK) and you're welcome to come and try it out for yourself in Dorking, Surrey
Gut shots to follow over the weekend
