Advice sought I'm Looking to put together headless bass-Telecaster twin-neck.

The title says it all really. I've fancied putting one together for donkey's years. I'm currently playing bass and guitar in a Progressive-Folk-Rock band project so that's as good a reason as any?

I'm considering sourcing a couple of doner instruments, a half-decent, affordable headless 4 or 5 string (Westone Quantum, Hohner B2/V, Steinberger Spirit etc...) and something "Tele-like". I'm a fairly handy guitar-tech so will be building this myself and I'll need to keep the cost down (under £500?)

Anyone had any experience/advice/polite suggestions?

Mock it up in photoshop or similar first.   I did this before converting a hohner into a mini-V and the mockups allowed me to decide which style of V was going to work best, what sort of size it all needed to end up, how the access to the tuners would work etc....   I only really worried about keeping scale length as a constant as it was just to get a rough idea

I ended up trimming the hohner down to through neck proportions and inserting into a V style body, quite complex but i felt it would give the best results
