Stuffing. I mean I love all the rest of the stuff in the roast dinner as well but the stuffing is my favourite thing ever.

Love most of it apart from parsnips and brussel sprouts.

  • I like making stew out of the left overs the following day.
    wise ass!
Except it's true and I can't help that you made a dumb ass thread about stew before.

My parents used to make turkey stock from the bones, then use it to make a really nice stew.. always had left over turkey and any uncooked veg that needed using up in it. Soooo good.

Sprouts are fab, folk that don't like them were probably force fed overcooked and oversalted mush when they were kids and have never had them proper cooked.
    No.

There is a chemical in sprouts for which only some of us have a receptor. If you have the receptor then sprouts are worse than bitrex. It's hard to describe to someone who can't taste it - to you sprouts are basically like little cabbages, right? To me they are like chemical warfare, just overwhelmingly bitter, to the extent that they completely overload my sense of taste and smell.
The thing with sprouts is that they start to rot as soon as they're picked. I like them whatever, but the year I managed to get a stalk of them they were far less pungent.

Europeans are like that, very time-specific in a lot of their food production. I'm only allowed to buy turron at Christmas, which is just as well because 6 bars of the stuff has just set me back £45!

What's the deal with all this foreign cake at Christmas? Nothing wrong with Mr Kipling.

oh no not 'Foreign' food !............nothing wrong with Mr Kipling ........who needs all those elegant French Patisseries,Viennoiserie,Italian Panettone,Spanish Turron,German spiced Gingerbread,Austrian Stollen laced with rum and thick real Marzipan made from real almonds ........can't beat Mr Kipling's English synthetic fruit cake with plastic icing although a McDONALDS apple pie gives it a run for it's money......just the smell of that putrid oily fried batter coating gets me salivating.
Can't beat a nice Fray Bentos meat pie for starters too !
