Apart from films I rarely follow new releases so never have much to add to typical end of year music lists. But, I find lots of good bands/albums during the course of a year. Lets have yours.

Hiss Golden Messenger - lateness of dancers 
- heart like a levee.
More rootsy, vintage & street than Ryan Adams, great songs.

Sarah Jarosz - Undercurrents 
- Build me up from bones

ADHD - 2 - 3&4 - 6
Great Nordic Jazz band with Nels Cline style guitar thrown in.

Jessie Ware - tough love

Lisa Hannigan - at swim

The Cinematic Orchestra - Every day

Justin Townes Earle - Kids in the street 
Champagne Corolla is on repeat

Bot really listened to a lot of new guitar music this year. My favourite artists this year have been Tornado Wallace, and The XX. I'd heard the XX, but the new album this year was just simply sublime.

Along with Turnpike Troubadors, Jason Eady, Erin Enderlin,  Caroline Spence, Sarah Shook, Lukas Nelson, John Baumann to name but a few brilliant country artists.

They haven't actually released an album this year, but my favourite discovery of 2017 is Khemmis.  Heavy, not averse to a guitar solo, but wonderfully melodic.  I can even put up with the occasional harsh vocals.

Also Pallbearer, for similar reasons.

I know little of Talking Heads, but it's a great hooky record right through. 

Their older ones are good too. I've been listening this week and surprised myself how many songs I already know.
