This Carlsbro 100TC was brought in for a Bulgin to IEC mains socket swap, and the client advised that some work had been previously done on the amp, so it didn't need any further attention, 'll leave you to draw your own conclusions  ;)

Yeah but he didn't even do that properly!  Should be completely flush or they act like blades on your hands.

What a sorry mess. Hope he didn't pay to have that done.

To be honest, the tie-wrapped filter caps whilst looking a mess are actually functional, its the random 10uF caps dotted around the PCB that I don't like, plus the multi series / parallel resistors everywhere on the board does the guy not carry a stock of standard values?

Haha yeah I used to work with a guy who went insane if you didnt cut the cable ties flush. I agree. I have cut myself many times on those things running cables in roof space.

When I was working as a fitter/wireman, one of my supervisors was known to undo an afternoon's work for one of the new guys now and then, if they hadn't cut all the ends off their cable ties on a loom absolutely flush.

The amp in the OP is officially a mess.
