Does anyone know if this could be used as a travel amp combined with headphones and a suitable 6.35mm female to 3.5mm adapter?

  • Probably not, it would only be able to do cleans and the input is the wrong impedance.

You would need some sort of pre amp alongside it.

Look at the Vox Amplug series.

Some years ago I built my son  a pre amp for his Strat using the LM386 1W amp chip. Even though the input Z is far too low at about 10k it sounded quite good.  P of P to fit a FET buffer anyway.

If you have any kind of pedal NOT of the daft "True Bypass" sht, just buy a Behringer HA400.

Or! Should you want to record on the lappy, a Behrry UCA 202. (+pedal)

    Dave.
