I haven't played with midi for quite a few years now but I fancy having a go again. I still have my GR20 and GR55 sound generators and a couple of Roland pickups.

I fancy a headless guitar. Midi on a guitar is a bit weird anyway, so why not a weird guitar. I've never been mad on the Roland strap a big black box on your guitar look, so I plan to strip one down and embed it inside the body somehow. I forgot to add the thin black pickup - that will be just after the bridge.

Anyway, as always I started faffing around with the design, so here is my to scale working drawing as it is thus far:

Not decided on finish yet. Might be wood look, might try flip paint or I might hand paint or airbrush a design on it. Early days, I'll think about it.

A few eBay shops still have them in new old stock condition.

Interesting idea.  I wonder if wireless MIDI is doable...

I assume you'll be using the GK plug design Roland use?

The only proper solution for wireless MIDI at the moment is the Fishman Triple Play.

Are you ever planning to put that guitar on a guitar stand? If so, how?

no, he will put it on a hanger instead....   ;)

    ......

Many guitars exist which are not perfect for stands or hangers.   A design like this will be fine on most stands that are not fixed position at the bottom.   You may as well ask the same question of every offset owner

I'm married, so no guitar of mine has ever gone on a stand or hanger. Ever.

Tell me about it - try putting an offset double-neck on a stand! :)

If you want a cheap GK3 to strip down drop me a PM I have one, fully working but the plastic mount broke off the pickup
