C18Q1 - Viola Caipira Build

So I've started one of those London Metropolitan short courses.
We need to decide what to build (it needs to be an acoustic instrument in order to keep all students at the same pace etc).

Decided to go back to my Brazilian roots and build myself a viola caipira.

It's essentially a parlour-sized guitar with 5x2 pair of strings. It sounds like this:



The first part of the course is building a neck (and learning some basic skills like hand plane wood etc).
Looking forward to hopefully sharing some progress!
