*law student enters* Under English law, he would actually have a claim under the Occupiers' Liability Act (1984), which provides a duty of care to trespassers, owed by the occupier of premises, IF there was a danger not reasonably guarded against or warned about. Scraping your ballbag on a shelf in a botched escape, however, would not be sufficient.
