And it’s another GT ( @Legionreturns - apologies!)

So. It’s another MIJ. This time a 94 57 Reissue, from the Orville by Gibson range.

All original. Few little drinks, but pretty good for 24 years old. 

Fantastic neck - real handful of beautiful quartersawn mahogany. 

Long tenon, nitro - everything you’d want. Well, everything I’d want in a Les Paul..


Seller drove all the way up from Uxbridge to deliver. Would have been even better if he hadn’t got halfway up the M1 before realising he had forgotten the guitar!

Looking forward to cranking it up tomorrow!

Sorry old chap. Don’t have a GT with P90s at all. Buckers are better. Have P100s in a blacktop though....but have decided to hang on to it....

Mine is a ‘93. The neck is more like the Gibson 60’s profile.

I had a very similar ObG goldtop, I think it was a '94 although it may have been a '93.  Can't remember the neck profile, except it was neither particularly fat nor particularly skinny.

I didn't keep it very long. When I got it half the inlays were falling out and I sort of took against it and promptly sold it.... which was probably a mistake.

From the sale ad the neck measurements:
The neck at the 1st fret is 23mm (29/32")

The neck at the 12th fret is 26mm (1 1/32")


Have checked it against my True Historic R7 and the ObG is actually slightly thicker!!
