The world's most disappointing pedal?

Here's my nomination...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-ADI-21-Acoustic-Amp-Modeler/dp/B000KITQK2

I picked one up s/h on ebay for a tenner.

If you want a distortion box for your acoustic guitar, then this is the baby for you. The mid control is a distortion control. The pad switch is the 'make less fuzzy' switch. And the treble control is a 'make it hurt' control.

These are seriously shit. I think mine is going bin-wards, as I don't want to inflict it on anyone else.

But how high were your expectations, paying a tenner for a Behringer pedal?

To be truly disappointed, surely one needs to fork out booteek levels of dosh. I nominate the KOT - not cause its a bad pedal but considering the hype it gets and the prices they go for, they are entirely meh at home volumes.

I expected it to work as an acoustic pedal - as something that could give an extra layer of eq and body to a piezo signal.

It doesn't even do that. And from what I understand its not 'faulty'...

    OBNE Procession
Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe + was also a big let down, especially considering the reputation

Wish I'd watched this beforehand... as mine does exactly this and sounds this shit...

The Dunlop 'Jimi Hendrix Fuzz-Wah' I bought on Ebay one afternoon in a fit of missing my old Sound City Fuzzwah and having had a couple of pints :).

It was an average wah and a crap distortion in the same box, not a fuzz-wah at all, and it sounded nothing like Jimi. Miraculously I managed to sell it on for what I paid for it, eventually.

Most "booteek" overdrive pedals I've ever tried have been entirely disappointing too...

And the Nobels ODR-1 - not terrible, but just rather bland and characterless, and not deserving of the hype it gets.

I can't understand what for... distortion perhaps?

My expectations weren't high at £10 but frankly, its not even worth that IMHO.

Tell y'all what... if anyone thinks they can make this sound anything other than shit and wants it for the cost of postage, they can have it.

Boss HM-2 pedal back in the '80s before Swedish Black/Death Metal existed, though to be fair they still sound shit today.

We used to buy them for a tenner and use them to overload our JCM800 heads, no idea why, but we thought it was funny when I was about 15.

Yes, although the MIJ versions are apparently more tolerable.

Add the RAT to the list, fizzy, buzzy, bad.

Boss PW-10 Power Wah - it has about a centimetre of travel, takes up a stupid amount of pedalboard space and just sounds average, at best

In the few YouTube vids I've watched comparing Taiwan vs Japanese, the Japanese sound worse - thin and whiny. At least the newer ones have some grunt to them.

The Pefftronics Rand-o-Matic, which goes for silly money now.  The randomness feature was fun, and I liked that the resonance knob could be taken into oscillation, but it was so narrow, grainy and lo-fi sounding as to be almost unusable to me.  I did later wonder if mine wasn't working properly.

Way Huge Pork Loin. Somehow either too boomy or too harsh, baffling not-clean-clean-blend. Probably kicks ass on bass but for six string, no thanks.

I understand the boomy bit, they do kick out a lot of bass, but harsh?
