rough frets on new guitar - polish or get shop to fix?

I just bought a new classical Yamaha for £200, RRP is over £400
some fret crowns are not smooth

How common is this? Should I take into one of their branches to get fixed ,
or try polishing myself first?

If it's new get them to sort it - the crowns should not be scratchy or pitted.

unusual for a Yammie - shouldn't be like that.
if ya get the shop to do it - do you trust the 'tech' to do a 'leveling' job or suspect they might give the offending frets a going over with a brilo pad ?.

I just gave them a call  they seemed helpful, I'll wait for their full response, I wondered if wirewool would do it, but why should I attempt my amateurish repair on a new one (unless it's easy - I would prefer not to drive/return it)
