I’m surprised so many people are asking for it with all the amps etc installed, the LT is less than £700 - the point of this is to replace a pedal board and nothing more. Also surprised that people are expecting it to have so many loops and midi etc - I’d be surprised if it had any more than two loops (or one stereo loop) and midi must be a requirement of such a small proportion of the guitar playing community that it would make sense to force them up toward either the higher end full fat helix options.

    Just my opinion, of course!

Edit - this post is as much a vent after having read multiple pages of the TGP thread on the subject. Boy do those guys know how to be dicks about a cool new product. As you were.
It's the footprint I like, the Helix is great, but we play some tiny pubs where it gets trampled on.  Also for most gigs I'd ba happy with less flexibility, just a few basic sounds.  It wouldn't replace my Helix, just provide an option for smaller gigs,
    This.

Most original bands playing 3/4 or even 5 band bills simply don't have the space for something like the original Helix. I've seen a guy with a covers band using a Helix with a couple of pedals. It was like the USS Nimitz was sitting on the floor. That's why the Boss MS3 is such a clever idea.
Eh? I played in a 5-piece last night on a stage where even the 4-piece bands on the 4-band bill were cramped, and I had easily enough space around my Helix LT to be confident It wasn't going to get stepped on, and the LT is only a couple of centimetres smaller than the full-fat Helix.

Hell, it's still smaller than most people's pedalboards!

If your pursuit is for the best sounds, no multi ever covers it all, even if it does have all the bells and whistles
If your pursuit is for the best sounds then no rig whatsoever gets you there - that aim is a recipe for never-ending disappointment.

If your pursuit is making music then almost any setup will do.

Pfft...I don't even really like music. I just play guitar so I can buy pedals. Don't piss on my chips. ;)

    I own a Helix floor and a H9.

The one thing that the H9 does much better than the Helix is polyphonic pitch shifting. Everything else's both units do is pretty equal. The Helix does a lot of stuff the H9 can't, amp modelling, IR, channel switching, extensive MIDI, USB audio interface.

The biggest thing though is the user interface. The H9 is almost impossible without the editor, the Helix is so easy I don't need to use the computer editor.

The HX is a little more complicated but still easy enough to get round without a manual
even doing routing splits is fairly straight forward
its a really well designed UI

Always find it’s weird how guys are like “OMG but the H9 is in 94bit 1bhz super triple stereo” then they listen to all this back through a Vintage 30 like it’s actually going to make a difference

I honestly think the major differences bar the harmoniser which is great, is the reverbs and/or the reverbs within patches for other effects. I bet this update makes a big difference to some guys

    Here you go:-

Dimensions/weight? Is it smaller than M9?
    10.8”w x 7.9”d x 2.8”h; 4.75lbs
HX Effects is about 1/4” wider than M9 and maybe an inch deeper. It’s as small as we could possibly make it.

Pitch is not a Helix strong point IMO, one effect I miss now and again is my micro POG.

I think that would be a great idea. The HX to have room for maximum of 2 amp models of your choice to download.

I've just watched Andy's Reverb demo of the HX and he makes it sound really good.

Of course, but then a lot of people wouldn't by the LT and full-fat Helixi

Hhhmmm, just too rich for my needs at that price. I only want occasional other effects. Wish the Zoom G3n had a loop, that would probably do me!

£540 is too much and they did this with the Helix pricing late summer last year. Just put the actual price, otherwise I won’t trust enough to pre-order.

I suspect they're all playing silly buggers on price until it's actually in the market, then the reality of how many buyers they have at current pricing will define the actual street price going forward. The Helix and Helix LT did the same thing.

I've just heard the reverbs that come with the latest firmware update...they sound mightily impressive. I think I need to try an updated Helix LT soon, into some good FRFR speakers.
