Does anyone know of any luthier in this country who has an operation large enough to build 15 high-end guitars per month? That's presumably in addition to the commissions they get under their own name.
Gordon Smith (Auden)?  Not saying they are high-end....

Hang on, if the Chinese do a cheap fake knock off version of these, a la Chibson, what the hell are we going to call them??!!

Of course most publicity is good publicity, but who actually owns a Chapman?

Though I will say that anyone questioning Eggle's relaunch as a really high-end builder needs to play one of the new ones. Wow.
I own three PJE Guitars since he stopped making acoustics. I’m friends with Patrick and have just spent 7 days at the NAMM show sharing a booth with him. His guitars are among the best in the world, and lots of people, dealers and other luthiers agree from what I saw in the booth.

15 guitars per month is do-able if all parts and materials are available and everything is farmed out to specialists. Luthier, finisher, assembler, packer. Job done
    Don't forget pickup winder.
Some folks like water, some folks like wine.
    My feedback thread is here.

I think that’s common knowledge, especially as they are quite happy telling folk all the time.

The question was who actually owns one of their guitars though?

Sorry I meant who on here has bought a guitar. I’m being 100% honest in that if they offered a more traditional/less obviously metal shred guitar I’d be tempted to buy one....but in the £1000 Pro range there is stiff competition.

Yeah, amp wise for me it was probably the two rock stand. Their Bloomfield amp is just glorious in tone and looks. Guitar wise, seeing Nik Huber’s exotic builds and meeting them was a personal highlight. The surprise for me was realising how great some of these luthiers really are.

Two that spring to mine are Koll Guitars who had some really cool original builds as well as a Marshall half stack owned by Neil Young that they cranked to full volume on the last day.

i met the Frank Brothers, their guitars are absolutely flawless and astonishing in equal measure. With original shapes, cool headstocks and the fact that they are cool dudes too I’m sorely tempted.

effects wise the Empress Zoia looked like something I’d enjoy.

Finally it’s really hard to explain how cool it is meeting so many artists, legends and dealers from all over the world. Just the best experience and sharing a booth with pat was an absolute pleasure.

anyway I’m signed up to go again, I have tickets available for anyone that can front the airfare cost and who wants to visit. So next time  I’ll hook people up.

They did indeed, people knew who we were, wanted to chat, wanted photos and it was all a really successful venture..... time will tell if it pans out with more worldwide interest which was the aim.

the scale of namm is monster. Over 12000 booths ranging in size from 10ftx10ft up to whole floors..... it boggles my mind indeed

Glad you had a good show, its a great experience, not been since the late 90's but went quite a few times in the preceding years with a dealer friend. It is mind blowing and headache inducing. I'm sure it was more exciting then too because we didn't have the internet, so lots of surprises and no marauding teams of british dealers and their media crews. Back then the artists and the guitars were the stars ;)
