Recommended amp??

I play in a function band and we just use backline and don't mic up the amps. Currently using a hrd but i fancy an upgrade to someyhing nice and its a bit heavy when lugging around and carrying up steps etc. I fancy a small head and cab that would be loud enough to keep up with drummer. Any reccomendations??

I should probably explain that i would be looking for a pedal platform type amp. I was looking at v40 but there are some awful user reviews. I think the dr z maz 18jr could be suitable, does anyone have any experience with these? Budget max is around £2k.

The world is your clam with that budget. 

Go second hand, grab a Two Rock studio pro and you will be happy as hell.

I know you said head and cab but consider the Two Rock Studio Pro 35 Combo. Fantastic pedal platform, nice and compact, more than enough headroom and easily loud enough for what you want. You should find one 2nd hand well within your budget.

Two-Rock sesnor, jet 22 or 35 also great shouts. 

My sensor 22 keeps up with loud drummers too in terms of clean headroom. 

Dont let the bad reviews of the v40 put you off though, then can sound good with the right speaker and only really come alive when turned up a bit - the two rock stuff is a different league though in fairness.
