MartAmp (MTW) Roadstar TT 18 Hand wired all valve UK 1 X 12 Combo for sale in Pocklington. This was a Custom order completed in March 2009, and has never been gigged and only used a handful of times as I am now NI Guitar Rig for my studio needs.

20kg, the cabinet is v solid, all proper ply construction and is 620w x 310d x 460h (mm).

12" Celestion G12-M rated at 25 w 16 ohms. The clean sound is superb, it doesn't sound like 'every other amp' but has it's own character while still sounding lush! and is great with either sigle coil or hum buckers. MartAmps are now known as MJW and Martin used to build and design amps for Orange.

Current list is £770, so save £320 and buy mine for £450, there is not a mark on the tolex and could easily pass for new. Delivery in Yorkshire and N E possible or come and try out with my 58 RI, Les Paul, CS 330 RI or 52 RI Tele, which ever floats your boat. E Yorks/Pocklington collection

It was Matamp, not Orange. ;)

    I'm guessing it's this one:image

I wish I hadn't seen this, I've only just sold my own MJW this morning, but this looks really nice.  I'm a sucker for a combo and the 18w would be great for the studio and small gigs I do.

I'm going to sleep on it.  (other voice in head says 'you snooze you lose'!)

Going to stick with Plan A and get an acoustic amp as I have some solo gigs coming up. But it's on my watch list, you never know....... Cheers Tom

Any discerning tone hounds out there?

  • This is probably a question for Martin, but is this more like a 1974x or the 2061x in terms of its circuit? I guess the answer will be neither ;-)

Neither really. It's a bit like a 1974, using the Normal channel 1st stage and the Tremolo channel tone stack. But with a solid state rectifier and a switchable and variable extra gain stage. :)
