NPD: Roland Phase-II

Don't usually do npd posts as I change stuff so frequently but this one sounds so exceptional I thought it worth flagging up.

I've fancied trying this one for years but they rarely come up and then quite costly, so when one came up at a reasonable price I jumped on it. Very happy I did - pedals often get described as 'musical' but this one has it in spades. Just turning it on with both controls set at zero adds a really nice warmth and lushness to your sound.

It's a 6 stage phase apparently but is capable of giving a very defined phase sound that easily moves into rotary speaker territory.
With Speed at 3 and Resonance at 4.5, it gives a gorgeous rich, full phase sound that's very addictive. Put a long chip delay after it and it's hard to put the guitar down.

This one has picqued my interest in the AS-1 Sustainer, willl definitely be keeping an eye open for one.

I'm glad that someone else loves phase and delay. It's so easy to zone out and get lost in the trippy whooshiness.
