This is a great problem solver for a MIDI system. It has 5 inputs and 11 outputs and allows you to set one pair as a master keyboard and one pair as a computer/sequencer. You can also choose one of the other three inputs as a merge source.

Then the smart stuff inside works out how to merge these and send the correct data to the outputs all WITHOUT creating a MIDI loop.



Also has a MIDI cable test facility (using Input C and output 3 on the front panel).

No manual, but thanks to the hero behind Muzines, you can get more info and work it out from the original review here: http://www.muzines.co.uk/articles/xri-systems-xr400-midi-mate/128 - it will take a couple of read-throughs of that to get the hang of it, but once you're sorted it's very straightforward.
