So this was harder than I thought..... however new reliced guitar day NGD!!

So a short while ago I attempted to do some mods to a tele and a strat that i had so i ordered a tele and a strat neck, anyway i properly ballsed it up. Thankfully Jon @FelineGuitars is fixing that mess. However it still left me with an itch to scratch so I had a chat with Scott of @lonestar ;, and the end result is this.... its a very light relic purple candy telecaster body and a nicely reliced neck. I did all the assembly, some S/H 51 customshop nocaster pickups, fender bridge, locking gotoh tuners, bone nut, cts pots, 4 way switch, schaller locking strap locks.

All in all this build went well, i ruined the nut first time around, had to cut another but third times a charm, I have a great purple nitro telecaster that looks the part and sounds great. Anyway, if you fancy a refin or fancy putting together a nice strat or a nice tele, then please give Scott of SC Relics a message.

As someone with one or two parts projects on the boil, would you mind telling us what went wrong initially? Good to see you ended up with a cool and unique tele.

Looks great, most of the problem with cutting nuts either relates to the wrong tool for the job, poor nut material or over enthusiasm

Over enthusiasm with regards the nut, I’m sure it ended asa rhomboid at one point. Then I glued it in before it was ready. After that i tried to chip it out and split the nit so had to make another.

How are you finding the Gotoh Magnum locking tuners? You've got me thinking about installing them on my Les Paul now.

My favourite tuners, this is my fourth set and I cannot fault them. Smooth, accurate and look ace

Sold! I have some really nice Gotoh's on my Taylor (currently for sale! :-/ ) and they make a hell of a difference, good feel, good ratio etc.
