Where shall I stick my Ditto.......effects loop quandary

I'm just about to have a fiddle with my pedals and I'm in a quandary. I'm keeping the tuner, wah and dirt in front and running the chorus reverb delay in the fx loop. I assume I need to run the looper last in the fx loop? Or am I still drunk?

  • Sounds right to me. If you run it any earlier, the loop will have effects applied to it after recording them.

Not sure if you're running in the order you posted above, but I would suggest running the delay before the reverb, otherwise your reverb gets delayed and can sound a bit muddy.  As for the original Q, definitely looper last as Legionreturns says.

Worth mentioning though that if you want to have a play with some pedals to find a sound, it can be worth temporarily putting the looper at the start of your chain to record your dry signal and then you can have the loop running so you can mess with settings hands free so to speak.  Kinda like a poor man's reamp
