Piano courier - any advice please

What's Hot
I've bought a heavy digital piano, under 100kg. It can't be dismantled

I need to get it from the shop in Mansfield to Cheshire. the shop would charge £200

Can I get it done cheaper without risk of damage?

Why not hire a van with a tail lift. Mansfield isn’t far at all from Cheshire.

You can get it done cheaper but there's always a risk of damage however much you pay. Plenty of Man and Van style services or as mentioned hire a van for a day or so
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

£200 for a 200 mile journey: 0.40 per mile for petrol = £80. Two hours three, two hours back, 15 mins to unload and deposit, two people to do the job.

I'd say £200 is not bad at all as piano rates go. I paid more four years ago for a similar distance taking a baby grand from Devon to Bath.

Presumably the shop delivery method will mean it is insured to the point of where you receive it. With the Man and Van approach, this is less likely. Check the small print.
