Just in case the iPad is limiting the quality of my musical creations, I'm considering migrating to using an old MacBook (Air) with Reaper.

Seems like I need some sort of audio interface to get the guitar in (and sound out).

I don't want anything complicated (because I'll get bored on pg1 of the user manual), nor expensive (because I've had these things before, and never used them).  Input for guitar/bass and maybe a mic would be handy.  USB interface rather than firewire.  Don't need lots of software with it.

Anyone got anything collecting dust somewhere, or dumped at the back of a drawer?
