So, the clearout begins... after deciding to mainly concentrate my efforts on acoustic playing I'm slimming down the number of electrics I own.

I know things are a bit slow in terms of sales right now, but I thought I'd try this on here for starters.

This is an absolutely awesome guitar in terms of playability and sound - and I would definitely be keeping it, had I not purchased the G6120AM as a 50th present to myself.

Previously owned by @TheMarlin and @BillKat ;;;;

It's in pretty good condition - a couple of minor cosmetic issues - a crack in one of the pickup surrounds and a wrong screw for the pick guard - both were done before I got it.

This guitar deserves to be played - and it's really just an ornament hung on my music room wall at the moment.

Complete with hard case and paperwork (which I sent off to Gretsch for).

Price: £1350 - no offers please.

Collection from York - or will meet somewhere if required, I'm not willing to post.

Thanks

Tony

Beautifully made thing, that. Has the ML bracing so a little more sustainy and still sounds like a big hollowbody.

Fabulous guitars, one of the best Gretsches of all in my opinion. Possibly my favourite neck pickup sound of all my guitars. This is a bargain!

Bump - and trade option added, somewhat contradicting my reason for wanting to let this guitar go!

One of my favourite guitars ever.  I'd buy it back if I could.  Alas, we have a house full of builders gutting the place - walls out, floors up, gone back to bare brick, and rebuilding.  So, all my money is tied up in that - and my wife's expensive taste in kitchens!

The bridge and pickguard have changed since I had it. Loved the neck on this one - just perfectly comfy.

I'm down to three Gretsches these days

    Marlin

edit:  I've still got the receipt somewhere...bought it lightly used from Wunju for £1600.  They put the first ding in it.  Was perfect, they took it away to set it up, and I got it back with a free ding on the back.

Original pickups were TV Jones Powertrons, I put TV Classic Plus set on it - much better in every way.  love that bridge pickup - no mud, bit of a nice snarl, stunning chimey cleans.

Bump - could be tempted to trade for a nice Taylor acoustic... I’d prefer one with a cutaway e.g. 412CE or 414CE
