Cheap Ae*ed "pedal" construction

What's Hot
Having followed the recent Cornish buffer thread, I remembered I'd PedalParts Klon buffer kit that I'd never got round to boxing up. Then I remembered I'd not got a box to put it in. Then I spied an old travel sweet tin on the shelf :)

A couple of big washers under the sockets to give a bit of rigidity, a bit of bubblewrap around the battery and a couple of self tapping screws to hold it all together.

  • I had an AB pedal from @Sporky that worked intermittetently because the battery hung down fom the lid. I fixed it with a mini Chupa Chup. IIRC, there's photo evidence on one of my old phones.

That's when I started using battery clips, IIRC...

@Sporky I dug my ABominiser out last night.

The battery clip has partly come away.  Will it be safe to use Loctite to glue it back?  And should I first remove whatever it was you used to stick the clip to the roof of the box?

Edit: probably trivial, but mine is both battery and AC power. Fancy that,  I powered it with a battery when it was used with daisy chanied Boss pedals!  Mustn't have been using a small chain.

Loctite should be OK, or pop it back and I'll bung in a new clip.

Well if you don't mind posting it to me I'll post it back once done  :)

Let me know if that's OK and I'll pm my address.

    Great, I can do that.

Edit: @Sporky pm your address please, I've got an envelope ready.

Update: a couple of posts up, I asked if it was safe to use Loctite to glue a clip back in place. Sporky asked for the pedal back, glued the clip back in place and returned it - thanks. It's "only" an AB pedal, but I used it for hours at a time in rehearsals and gigs. A good and well used bit if kit.

Yes. I was more preoccupied by the weighty thunk it now makes, following the addition of a wooden block under the clip. Probably a CITES-based rouse, to stop me selling it abroad.
