I just got a Strymon Flint and am on a bit of a tremolo trip, I think the wife's feeling a bit queasy with all the wibbly wobbly tones coming out of the man cave...

What are your favourite tremolo guitar songs?

I think this is mine: Lynyrd Skynyrd - I Need You. Ed King's Fender Strat into a 60's Brownface Princeton (or so I have read)

The simplicity of guitar, amp, reverb & trem is joyous!

Yep, loving that! I need to dust down my CCR albums, haven't played them in a while.

How Soon Is Now is the first one that comes into my head when talking about tremolo.

Wicked Game has a nice trem I think? Have not heard it for ages so might be wrong.

    Gimme Shelter usually gets mentioned.

Rumble by Link Wray when the tremolo comes in part way through.

Scratch My Back ( aka Baby Scratch My Back) either the original by Slim Harpo or the Fabulous Thunderbirds cover. It’s the only song Jimmie Vaughan has a pedal for ( Boss tremolo).

Theres a recent Discussion on Harmonic Tremolo and Lonely Sea by The Beach Boys as the prime example of that.

Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, possibly the defining tremolo song.

IIRC there is a tremolo part in the middle of Dawning of a New Era by The Specials - the guitar sounds are pretty ropey but it stands out as one of the few obvious uses of a guitar effect on their recordings.

Lloyd Cole - For Crying Out Loud.

A little more subtle than some, but perfect.

I also love the tremolo bass in U2's Love Is Blindness.

    Trem plus natural harmonics. Lovely.
