    Johnny Marr is a better guitarist than Johnny Marr when he played live

    Did the Strat tones sound heavenly? The bass player deserves a mention too. The Yin to Marr's Yang.

    It was 32 years ago but the sound was always great at Brixton Academy. I saw them there a few months earlier when Craig Gannon was on guitar and Marr rocked out a lot more. Andy Rourke is a great bass player who deserves more credit. The Smiths was the sum of its parts. The sound on this video is the soundboard recording that was released as a B side.
