I have a pair of 1x12" cabs with Beta 12A drivers that I use for bass.  I've run guitar amps through them, though only at lower volumes at home.  They seem plenty usable, though a little polite somehow.  I also had to roll of a lot of bass for my tastes with guitar, but they're in ported cabs so that isn't surprising.

I hadn't heard one of these before, but there's one in an amp I'm working on now...

I don't know if it's just a really, really bad match for the amp - a Mesa MkII - but what a *horrible* sounding speaker. The description that it's like a 'smoother V30' is somewhat accurate, but in all the wrong ways.

It has the same sort of prominent mid peak and rolled-off top-end of the V30, but without the bite or 'chunk', so it just sounds really whiny and clangy. Painful to listen to for any length of time.

    +1 for the EVM-12L speakers

They are rated at 200Watts per speaker and they are extremely balanced! Worth every penny.
I hope you don't try to pick that up by the top handle!
