Strangely therapeutic if you’re at all mechanically minded....

I’m finding them quite fascinating.  I love skilled people.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.

I get caught up in this sort of video.  I watched a Japanese guy silently make a knife from hardwood, sharpen the cheapest knife with the most expensive whetstone and another in which he hardens and then sharpens a run of the mill pencil sharpener blade.

Recently I've found myself watching a bunch of "RSW" (Rosa String Works) videos. It's fascinating to watch somebody be able to take apart a 100 year old acoustic and fix it and put it back together again.

I’m on woodworking at the minute. Ishitani Furniture is one guy who makes wonderful stuff solely with joinery - no screws. His Japanese hand plane and the way he uses it is something else.

Rag ‘n’ Bone Brown is a British guy in his shed who makes stuff from bits of ply and wotnot he nicks out of skips, very different.

    Both very therapeutic.

I've been watching a lot of wood turning videos, watching a vase being made from crayons is strangely hypnotic.

@speshul91 - I think I saw that one.  Did he smother them in epoxy first?

    I saw that one!

Now I'm starting to worry about myself.
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

Shout out to @randella ; for the pointer to Ishitani Furniture. I've looked at a number of their videos as a result - they are both calming and inspiring to watch.

@Moominpapa - you're welcome, glad you enjoyed them.  He makes pro-level joinery look as easy as doing beans on toast for tea.  I've had a few goes at dovetails down the years and... yeah.  They didn't look like his :)
